The Port Clinton Science CCC met for several days during the 2012 and 2013. Together, we examined the Newly Revised Ohio Content Standards for Science (New Ohio Learning Standards for Science) and compared the document to the current standards, discussing the roll-out schedule along the way. We focused our study on INQUIRY - the foundation and glue for the newly revised standards. We created sample investigations to actively engage Port Clinton students in the inquiry process. We used Curriculum Topic Study (by Page Keeley) as a mechanism to study a sample course topic in depth in order to provide a deeper understanding of the topics we teach. We also searched for, and identified relevant teaching resources. Finally, we identified appropriate formative assessment strategies and probes. All of the work completed was organized by grade level and unit and is found on the corresponding wiki page. Please feel free to contribute to this wiki by adding appropriate resources that you use in the classroom. The goal is that this wiki will grow and evolve as Port Clinton teachers begin the process of implementing the newly revised standards.
